Electricity Program
Electrical wiring is a field that is diverse and on the cutting edge of technology.
Introduction:
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of construction electrical industries. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills, stresses the understanding of all aspects of the electricity industry, and demonstrates such elements of the industry as planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety, and environmental issues. Programs graduates start as electrician’s helpers or apprentices. A helper or an apprentice must work under a licensed journeyman electrician until the journeyman exam is taken and possess a thorough understanding and demonstrate safety procedures used at work sites.

The average wage for this career in Florida is $15.01 hourly or $31,210 annually.
Completion Requirements:
This entire program is 1200 hours. Certain Adult Education Centers do not offer all components of the program. Full completion of the program may be completed at a Technical College. Students can earn a certificate at the completion of the following Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):

Students in the Electricity program will learn to measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools. Electricity is available at the following school (s):
