Child Care Center Operations (Director)

Introduction:

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Education and Training career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills.

Note: This program is approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) as meeting the course requirement for child care center directors, 65C-22.003. Students who complete the program, and meet additional requirements, are eligible for the Florida Child Care Director Credential. Salary:

The average wage for this career in Florida is $15.16 hourly or $31,530 annually.

Completion Requirements:

The entire program is 45 hours. Students can earn a certificate at the completion of the following Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):
