Aviation Powerplant Mechanics Program
Aircraft/airframe and powerplant mechanics are in demand.
Introduction:
The Powerplant Technician program prepares students for entry-level employment as aircraft mechanics. Students may enroll on a part-time or full-time basis. The programs also provides supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in the aviation industry. All courses are FAA approved. The tuition cost is approximately $4,500 (out of state tuition cost is approximately $17,600). Prices are subject to change without prior notice. The Powerplant blocks of instruction provide an in-depth study of PowerplantTheory/Maintenance and Systems, which includes an in-depth analysis of reciprocating and turbine engine systems. Upon completion, students are qualified to take the FAA Written Oral and Practical Examinations and obtain the Powerplant Rating.

Salary:
The average wage for this career in Florida is $32.32 hourly or $68,120 annually.
Completion Requirements:
The entire program is 1350 hours. Students can earn a certificate at the completion of the following Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):
